Reflections on
the sea
Incorporating the work of
Turner, Constable, Whistler, the Impressionists, and many more,
this talk centres on the attraction of the sea, lakes and rivers
as a major stimulus for artists throughout the centuries.

Drawing - Inspiration
Process and completion
Using examples of artists drawings throughout the ages -Leonardo,
Durer, Rembrandt, Gainsborough, Monet, Degas, Picasso, Vanessa
discusses the stimulus, technique, and importance of drawing as
an art form. She also includes drawings from her own portfolio.
Amongst which are rehearsal sketches of Yehudi Menuhin, and the
architectural sketch of the concert pianist Tamas Vasary. (Click

Monet - Master
of Colour
Searching through Monets grand output, Vanessa focus' on his fascination
with light and colour as particularly shown in his landscapes
and 'Series' paintings.
Van Gogh - Primarily a draughtsman
A talk that looks at the intelligent
construction and structure of Van Gogh's drawings, and how they
inform all aspects of his masterful paintings.
Vanessa is also available for talks
regarding her own work: Its development and influences.
Vanessa has lectured with UCLA in Florence,
at Exeter International Music Festival, Hampstead School of Art
(London) and at many art societies including Bristol, Ross on
Wye, and Monmouth. She also lectures at her own residential art
courses in Herefordshire.
